Jan. 26th Drawing session

A good model, cozy night, crowded session.. bliss. My challenge to myself is: capturing movement, mood, form. Fluidly and with sensitivity. These sessions are so important
for keeping my drawing skills 'tuned up' like stretching muscles. 2-minute poses, shown in the middle here, are my visual sprints- perfect exercise for court sketching.

Jan 12, '12 drawing session

I can't say enough how important quick 2 minute figure studies are. I often find that I like these better than my more finished work, for the movement and immediacy captured in them. This is the fluidity I strive to capture in my court sketches and illustrations.
Practice, practice, practice. The model, Leigh, was fun to draw as well, and the energy in our packed drawing sessions is such a joy; I'm grateful to have this community.
